Governor's September 2019 Report

Governor’s Report

September 6-7, 2019

Current membership is 18,344 with 502 new members since the May 5th meeting.

The Midwest region continues to be the largest region with 27 clubs, 2,539 members, and Corvette Club

of Illinois is the largest club with 203 members. Mid-Illinois Corvette Club is the 5 th largest club in the

region with 168 members.

We have donated three sanctions to the October Fundraiser in Rantoul, Illinois. If you are available

Saturday October 5, 2019 or Sunday, October 6, 2019 take a ride to the autocross and help. This

fundraiser partially pays for the March Banquet.

August 29-30 auto cross is our grandfathered date for next year’s auto cross. Are we going to do this

again?  OR would you prefer we “offer” the sanctions to other clubs?

Charity and recognition notes from clubs for the Blue Bars Magazine should be submitted to me by

November 20th. If you’d like to submit an article about the charities we sponsor, please put a note

together and I will submit it to the Blue Bars editor.

The next generation 2020 Corvette will be in a class alone and will be classed as P class for racing.

Shannon Davis talked about FCOA. He is planning to have activities for kids at the convention next year

at Indy. He is planning for the FCOA kids to have a membership card similar to the cards NCCC members

get.  He is looking for ideas for FCOA packets. He talked about new database for FCOA.

It was discussed about online registrations. A pilot program was discussed starting with renewals and

new MALS and PayPal.  We will continue to investigate.

It was discussed about how to market the NCCC. With membership declining, to survive how can we

make it more appealing, or market better. If you have any ideas, let us know.

Next year’s convention will be held in Indianapolis July 5, 2020 – July 10, 2020. If you are interested

please visit their website. Lots to do! The 2021 convention proposal was presented for approval to have

in Cleveland, Ohio. The proposal in on the activity table and more information will be available at a later

This is the new membership card. (Picture)

Renewal will start soon, so please make sure all of your information is up to date with Tracy

Jim Walton, Business Manager for the NCCC asked all governors to answer questions that might arise in

the clubs. He has received many calls, emails, etc. asking questions that governors should be able to

answer. Please check with me before calling any NCCC or MWR officer.

Respectfully Submitted
