September 2017 Governor's Report

Governor’s Meeting
September 8-9, 2017

In 1977 Roger Clancy formulated a plan for the NCCC to be involved with charity work within our communities by sponsoring a Corvette giveaway. The Roger Clancy Humanitarian Award is given annually to a NCCC member who has gone the extra mile.  Two of the three nominees for 2017 are our club members!  Gary Uftring and Connie Durham were both nominated.  Deb Lindsey, Director of Sponsorship, Cowtown Vettes, Southwest Region, received the award.  Congratulations to both Gary and Connie for being nominated!

St. Jude Car Raffle.  The NCCC is selling tickets for $50.00 each for the annual St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Car Raffle.  The winner will receive a Certificate valued at $55,000 toward a new Corvette OR a cash value of $40,000.  I will have tickets for sale at the next two [September and October] meetings.

Please make sure Tracy Adamson, Membership Director, receives changes in information including email address, physical address, phone numbers, etc.

This will be the first time in NCCC history that the membership cards will be electronic.  Only new members will receive a plastic card.  If you do not have email, let me now and I will print your membership card.

New members only can request a free license plate frame with your membership.  You do have to ask for the frame.

An insurance waiver is highly recommended for events including car shows and drive out/meet & Eats.  When requesting a insurance certificate for an event, allow two weeks for processing.

Currently, the NCCC has 19,028 members.  The Midwest Region has 2,426 members and 28 clubs.  Central Illinois Corvette Club, located in Champaign, Illinois is the largest club with amembership of 209.

The 2018 Convention will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 15-20, 2018. The 60th NCCC Convention will be held in Denver, Colorado July 7-12, 2019. Details to follow.  Save the dates!

January 1 -10, 2018 the NCCC website will be shut down and moved to a new server, GoDaddy.  The Members Only password will change once the website is moved.  I will have the new password once it is changed.

Respectfully,
Sandy Arnold, Governor

St. Jude will receive a check for $7,400 from the 2016 NCCC Raffle.

Waiver retention will be changed so that waivers will be held for three years.

Governor's Report for September 2016

The Governor’s Meeting was held in St. Louis, Missouri on September 9-11, 2016.

I attended the Charity Meeting on Friday night and found the tickets for the St. Jude Raffle are not selling as well as expected. Tickets will be sold until November 11, 2016, when the raffle will end and the winning ticket will be drawn. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, the cost is $50 per ticket. The winner of the drawing will choose between a $40,000 (minus taxes) cash prize or a certificate for $54,000 toward a new corvette. Please help us to support St. Jude!

Last Memorial Day the Midwest Region used track time at the NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green. The region is determining if there is enough interest to return there.

The 2017 convention will be held in Bowling Green, Kentucky, August 21-25, 2017. More information will follow. The convention for 2018 will be held July 15-20, 2018, in New Orleans and Denver, Co. in 2019, with details to follow.

Renewals will begin soon and everyone will receive a membership card. Beginning next year you will not receive a card. The cost of processing and renewals is $40,000 a year and it has been decided that the cards issued will be used for multiple years. New members will receive a packet along with their membership card. Lost or stolen card will be replaced.

We have been asked for each club member to make sure your addresses and emails are on your renewal information.

Governor's Report for May 2016

Mid-Illinois Corvette Club have committed to 2 autocross racing events again this year! Workers are needed for both! Please sign up!! Remember to have your NCCC membership number with you. When signing the waiver, you will be asked to use that number to receive worker points for both events! The dates are June 5th in Taylor, Missouri and June 18-19th in Rantoul, IL. (Please see the flyers for information).

At the April meeting St. Jude was voted to receive the NCCC support for the new raffle program. Tickets are $50 each with a limit of 2000 tickets being sold. The raffle prize is a certificate valued at $54,000 for a new Corvette or a cash offer of $40,000. Tickets will be available at Bloomington Gold Corvette Show in June. The next venue to buy tickets will be at the NCCC Convention in Omaha, and in August at Carlisle. Michele Cantelmo was newly appointed the NCCC Director of Charity. If anyone is interested in tickets, I can order them from Michele.

Eckler’s will accept photos of clubs and their activities for their 2017 calendar. Any photo must be submitted by August 31, 2016. Might be something for our club to consider??

FCOA is celebrating their 25th year for children’s membership. There are 2,413 children from across the U.S., who are members. There is a one-time membership fee of $10.00. Every year each child receives a membership packet. Applicants must be younger than 16 years old. If you have a child, or grandchild who loves your car, sign them up.

Sadly, there will be no 2017 NCCC Convention. The convention was to be held in Bowling Green, Kentucky. And for various reasons, has now been canceled. No one has stepped forward to host a 2018 Convention.

The RMD (Regional Membership Director) asked that we update member information and remove anyone who hasn’t renewed. The membership application has been updated.

The NCCC currently has 18,290 members with 553 MALS, and 249 clubs. The Midwest Region has the largest number of clubs, with 30 clubs. The largest club in the MWR is Corvette Club of Illinois with 200 members.

Vettes on the River will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 in LeClaire, Iowa. They are asking everyone to make their reservations as early as possible. They are planning for a record number of clubs to attend this year. Pre-Registration is $15.00. After July 29, 2016, registration will be $20.00.

Governor's Report for March 2016

We were asked to return to our clubs and vote on choosing a charity to support for the new Charity Raffle. The choices were St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Shriners, or Lions Club. We will be voting at the April meeting for the donor of choice.

Patrick Dolan, Charity Director, has resigned his position with the NCCC. If there is anyone interested please visit the NCCC website to apply.

There is an online registration form used for events and can be used for populating flyers at NCCC. The flyer has been approved by the MWR and will make forms more uniform.

Many clubs have developed a procedure for retaining club documents and inventory. By having written documentation, the club knows what and where documents and inventory is stored.

I have a few Eckler’s 2016 Calendars. Our club can send pictures for possible publication into their calendar for next year if we are interested.

We need workers for our two low speed autocross events! Please sign up.
